What the hell?! It's been literally 7 years since I last posted. So much has been going on: I turned 23 and I'm just putting it out into the universe that this is gonna be the best year evaaah! Also, my sissy's wedding celebration was super lit. I needed, probably a full week to recover from that alone. And lastly.. NotedNina.com turned one! I can't believe my little baby is 1 already. It's been an amazing year, I'm so excited to keep this shit going!
Okay, enough of the updates.. Let's get to some of the goodies I've been loving this month!
Nars Sheer Glow Foundation
Now I know you're probably thinking "girl, isn't this foundation for people with dry skin? And don't you have oily skin?" and the answer to that is, yes and yes. But you know, I beat to the tune of my own drum. After having a hard time finding my perfect foundation, I decided to try this out since it was already in my collection from a while ago and I love it!
It has such a natural sheen finish but still has enough coverage to cover up any discoloration on my skin. So since it's the "Sheer Glow Foundation", it obviously has a little dewy-ness to it. I actually don't mind this because it makes it look more like my natural skin where as a matte finish can make me look a little cakey sometimes. This is definitely a new fave.
Glossier Phase 1 Set
I've followed Glossier on Instagram for a while now but just recently made my first purchase and honey.... this shit is good. I mean, the packaging alone will make me repurchase just for the potential IG pic I could take... but the actual products!!!!! They're just so good.
So the milky jelly cleanser is exactly that, milky and jelly. I use this every night to take off my makeup and it works like a charm. I just massage it around my face, no water needed and my makeup just melts off. This is soooo gentle on the eyes. Like you can rub your eyes with this and then open them and it won't sting at all. It leaves my face feeling plump and super moisturized.
The priming moisturizer is really the only primer I've ever used more than a hand full of times. I use this err-day and it's amazing. I know it's bad but I used to never use a moisturizer or a primer before applying makeup, I just could never find one that did it's job well but at the same time didn't effect my makeup application. This definitely handled that.
The balm dotcom is rubbed on my lips literally any chance I get. It is thee greatest lip balm I've ever used. You guys know the Hanalei lip treatment is my jam but this Glossier one takes the crown. The best thing about it is that it doesn't leave your lips super greasy and glossy, I'm not a glossy girl. But at the same time it moisturizes them all day long. This can really be used on any body part not just your lips, throw it on your cuticles, elbows, or really anywhere that needs a little TLC. So good!
Glossier nailed it with this set, I'll definitely be repurchasing!
Shaking Crab Restaurant
This is super random but honestly I can't even. This was probably like top 5 meals I've ever had in my life. Let me start from the beginning.. We went to the one in Newton (they have another location in Quincy) to celebrate my birthday a little early. So right, you pick out what kind of seafood you want, they have shrimp, crab, lobster, mussles, clams, everything you can think of. Then you pick your sauce and if you want it spicy or not. They cook it up, throw it in a bag, scoop some sauce in there, shake it around, and bring it to your table just like that for you to eat with your hands! Yes honey, give it to me. (why am I writing this at 7:30 AM and I'm now craving a King Crab Leg??)
If you can get there, go. Trust me! I'm not a "foodie" like everyone on Insta claims to be, I'm just a bitch that knows a good meal, ya know!? Go! Have fun, get messy!
Big Little Lies
Ohhhhhh baby, the tea is hottttt! My sister said I should watch this so that we could discuss it like we were in a book club but with tv, so I did. And man was it good. It's on HBO and it was only 7 episodes so I literally binged it in 2 days (I watched it at work, don't tell my supervisor)
I'm not gonna give any spoilers but I would say this is a suspenseful drama, not suspenseful in a scary, jumping out at you way but suspenseful in a sense that you'll be dying to get to the next episode because you can't wait to see what happens. Watch it!
Susan Miller's Astrology Zone
I'm definitely not a religious person but lately I've been feeling like I want something to believe in, so I'm going with the universe. I've started looking into Astrology and I downloaded this app after hearing about Susan Miller's horoscopes on one of the podcasts I listen to.
You pick your sign and every day you get a notification for a new horoscope. Sometimes they're a little generic but a lot of times they've been spot on. It's actually pretty fun to keep up with and I feel like it's been motivating me every day. So say my horoscope says I'm gonna accomplish a goal, (just for an example, they're not that vague) I will push myself to accomplish a goal so that the horoscope is true. It's pretty interesting, so if you're into astrology check out this app or her website.
There ya have it. Those are my (pretty random) May favorites! June is gonna be another busy month for me but I'm sure I'll figure out some way to fit in some product testing! What were some of the things you loved this month? Head over to my Facebook, Instagram or Twitter to let me know! Until next time!
