HAPPY NEW YEAR! Honestly, where did 2016 go? I cannot believe it's a new year. Anyways, December was a very busy, hectic, festive month for me. I spent most of my time listening to Christmas music, creating Christmas decorations, and buying and wrapping Christmas gifts. I was luckily still able to fall in love with some new products that I'm, of course, gonna be sharing with you. Cause I got your back! New year.. same Nina.
Hanalei Beauty Lip Treatment - I got the sample size of this in my December Ipsy bag and at first I was like "yeah, yeah, another lip moisturizer…" because I've gotten so many and usually end up just sticking with good old Aquaphor. I gave it a shot and it's actually SO bomb. I apply this on my lips while I'm getting ready in the morning and by the time I'm just about finished, most of it has soaked into my lips leaving them with the prettiest glossy, sheen look (without being too greasy). This is not the type of lip treatment that moisturizes but dries your lips (yes, that's a thing), you can apply this once and your lips will feel smooth all day long. I will definitely be ordering the full size product asap!
Thayer's Witch Hazel Astringent - I picked this up during one of my many trips to TJ Maxx over the past month or so. (I always check out the skin care/beauty aisles there, sometimes you can find some really good shit) This has become my go to in my morning and night time skin care routine. After washing my face, I apply this to close up my pores and get rid of any make up, dirt, or bacteria I may have missed. Astringent is known to tighten (and kinda dry out) your skin but this brand actually makes my skin feel super moisturized after using it. No matter your skin type, I recommend adding this into your skin care routine.
Bath & Body Works Fresh Balsam Candle - Oh my god, so good. This is perfect if you have a fake Christmas tree but still want to fill your home with the festive smell of balsam. Or even if you have a real tree but can't get enough of it. These 3-wick candles from Bath & Body Works are so good, they fill up the entire house with the smell. Must have for this season! So cozy.
Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay Deep Pore Cleansing Mask - I've been really obsessing over masks lately. This one is the real deal. It's definitely one of those masks that you feel working. All you have to do is mix some of the clay powder with water or apple cider vinegar in a non-metal bowl with a non-metal spoon. Not sure why you can't use metal utensils but that's what it says, so that's what I'm going with honey. It's awesome for cleaning out your pores which will shrink the appearance of them, also it legit evaporates your black heads, like what else could you ask for?
Kat Von D Shade & Light Contour Palette - I've had this palette for so long and I've always been in love with it. But lately I cannot go a day without using the shade Lyric (top middle shade) to set my concealer. It brightens your under eyes perfectly without any flashback. I'm so happy Kat came out with a refillable palette because I hit pan on Lyric way faster than any of the other colors.
Beats by Dre Solo 2 Headphones - Long story short, I got these as a Christmas present for my boyfriend.. I mistakenly tried them out before giving them to him and um… Ended up buying myself a pair. I should have known better than to listen to some Beyonce with them, it's like she was right next to me, singing to me. SOLD! I was able to find a refurbished pair for way cheap because you know… I'm ballin' on a budget over here. (The refurbished ones are sold out, so below are the regularly priced ones)
There you have it, the last monthly favorites of the year. I'm looking forward to trying soooo many more beauty and make up products in 2017. Can't wait to see what the year has in store for us! Until next time..
