So, I did a little shopping this weekend. You know, when those taxes hit and your life theme song turns into "Throw it in The Bag" by Fabolous. Whooops! I went into Ulta and came out with a bag of goodies that I am so happy about! I'm not a very strategic shopper most of the time so usually I'll end up hating a few of the things I bought. But this shopping trip was different! I went in there on a mission, accomplished it, and then some.
Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Angelo
I've been on the HUNT for my perfect nude lipstick. If you were to look at my lipstick collection, you would think I'm delusional because they're pretty much all the "perfect nude". But, I have a hard time finding a color that doesn't oxidize over time, that isn't too brown, doesn't make me look dead, and that is matte but not drying. That's a lot of requirements!
I am so happy to announce that I have officially found my perfect nude lipstick. This is it, my day has come! I've tried Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks before so I already knew the formula was amazing but this color?! To die for! When I first apply it, it's way too light and peachy but once it dries it becomes the most beautiful "your lips but better" pinky nude. I'm so excited to wear this... every day... until the end of time.
Tarte Shape Tape Concealer in Fair Beige
BEST ULTA TRIP EVER! Got my perfect nude lipstick andddd got the Shape Tape Concealer. I mean, it really doesn't get better than this. I assumed (because I'm so damn pale) I needed the Shape Tape in the color Fair which is just always sold out. But after swatching Fair Beige which was the lightest color they had in stock, I realized it would be perfect. I tested it out a little bit and it is everything I imagined it would be!
Ardell Cluster Wispies #600 & Faux Mink #811
I saw the #600's on Insta a few days before my Ulta trip and I just thought they were so cute and different. I usually go for a "cat eye" type of lash, where it's shorter on the inner corner and longer on the outer corner but these just caught my eye!
I've had my eye on the Faux Mink ones for a while now. I love the look of a Mink lash but I'm not trying to spend $30-$40 on a pair of lashes honey. These Faux Mink lashes are the great (and 100% cruelty free) alternative. Lashes are the perfect way to dress up a make up look, I'm glad I'll have these in my collection!
St. Moriz Instant Self Tanning Mousse & St. Tropez Tan Applicator Mitt
There are a few occasions coming up that I would love to be a beautiful bronze goddess for, ya know!? I picked up the St. Moriz Self Tanning Mousse in Medium and the St. Tropez Applicator Mitt which both come recommended by my sis. The mitt is definitely essential when using a self tanner, it will help you buff it all out and keep your hands from getting stained. I'll report back with an update.. pray I don't come out looking like a streaky little bitch!
EcoTools Bath & Shower Gloves
These are a re-purchase because I can't live without them! I use exfoliating gloves like these at least 3 times a week in the shower. If you plan on trying out the self tanner above, you'll definitely want to pick up a pair of these too. One way to make sure your tan looks ***flawless is exfoliating before applying it. Even if you're not planning on self tanning, these are an essential for your shower time!
Yes to Tomatoes, Yes to Cucumbers, Yes to Cotton Sheet Masks
I live for a good sheet mask moment! They're just so much more relaxing than a regular face mask. I tried the Yes to Tomatoes one on Sunday which is supposed to be acne fighting. It definitely shrunk the 2 pimples I had on my chin and forehead but my rosacea did not like this mask! It felt fine when it was on and even after taking it off, but when I woke up Monday morning, my cheeks (where I have the rosacea) were all red and puffy.
I think the other masks will be better for me seeing how the cucumber is for "soothing" and the cotton is for "protecting & minimizing irritation". If I were to use the Yes to Tomatoes mask again I would probably just cut it and put it on my trouble areas, which are the forehead and chin.
I'm super excited to try this out! I have little eye pads from Amazon that I usually put on when I take a bath because.. it just feels like the right thing to do, ya know? I've never noticed any improvements in my under eyes after using them so I'm excited to see the difference these will make. I love the idea of putting these on the morning of a big event, while drinking my coffee, in a nice comfy robe, hair wrapped up in a towel, maybe a fruit salad for breakfast, super cozy slippers. Can't you see it?!
Remington Smooth & Silky Dual Blade Trimmer
Okay.. Confession time. I shave my face. I've been doing it for a few years now but recently it has become a huge fad in the beauty world. Not only does it get rid of the peach fuzz but it is a great exfoliator. I usually use a regular razor like the ones you would use on your legs which works perfect but I decided to pick up this little hand held one for dry shaving. Let's be real, we've all thought we got all the leg hair and then dry off and realized you missed a spot.. same thing with the face! This will be perfect for those moments.
I tried out on a little patch of my arm, it's really good. Not as close of a shave as a regular razor but it will get the job done in a pinch!
I would say that was a successful trip, wouldn't you? Ulta is definitely a dangerous place but I'm excited to be trying out some new products. I have a feeling you'll be seeing some of these in a monthly favorites posts! Until next time!
