Two Step Pamper Night featuring Lush!
There is no better feeling than coming home from a long week at work and taking some time to pamper yourself. I make sure I do some type of self pampering every weekend. Whether it be a 12 step skin care routine or just sitting in the tub for a bit and relaxing. It's a really easy way for me to wind down. Saturday night I decided to try out some new skin care stuff I got. I was pretty tired and really just wanted to get in bed so I decided to make it a quickie. After finishing my couple step pamper routine and realizing how amazing it made my skin feel I knew I had to share this with you guys! This is definitely for the people who do not have the patience to sit still for too long, have way to much to do and don't have the time, or the people who just aren't really into self pampering.
I recently went to Lush which, first of all, is like heaven on Earth. All of their products are 100% natural and organic, not tested on animals, and everything is handmade. Their employees are always so helpful, you can really tell how much they enjoy their job by how much they know about the products.
I explained to the girls that were helping me that I have (super freakin') oily skin and rosacea. They suggested a couple things for me which they (of course) explained to the T. I first got the Cupcake Fresh Face Mask. The product is described on the packaging as "Chocolate heaven for oily skin" um... Hi, gimme that! Once I took a good sniff of it and realized it smelled like a big bowl of mint chocolate chip ice cream, I was sold.
One girl also suggested a Toner Tab. She brought me over to this little thing that looked like a quarter sized bath balm. She really didn't need to explain anything, I was for sure gonna buy it anyway. She told me that the Tea Tree Toner Tab is great for oily skin. All you do is drop it in some hot water and steam your face which will open your pores and make your skin more receptive to the ingredients in the tab. SOLD!
So fast forward to Saturday night, I grab a bowl of hot water, a towel, and my Lush goodies and get ready to be pampered! I plop the toner tab in the water, put my face over the bowl and put the towel over my head to really soak it all in. I did this for about 5-7 minutes and it was so relaxing! Once you've had enough of the steaming you can move onto your mask, but make sure you save the water! We'll come back to that.
I applied a generous layer of the Cupcake Fresh Face Mask. It smelled sooooo good, I kinda just wanted to eat it. I mean... It is all natural, I guess I could've. There are so many things I love about this mask. First, it doesn't harden so much that you can't move your face, it kind of stays a little damp even after waiting the full 10 minutes they recommend. Also, you don't really feel it working. Now don't get me wrong, I love the Glam Glow Supermud Clearing Mask because you can literally feel it pulling the junk out of your skin, but sometimes it's a little too much. I liked that this mask was working without me knowing.
Okay, here's where we go back to our toner water. Like I said, the mask doesn't dry completely which I think made it really easy to remove. Some masks dry so hard that you really have to scrub to get them off. Every time I have to do that, my rosacea is like "girl, really?!" I was pleasantly surprised with how easy this mask came off. I used a face cloth and dipped it into the toner water I had steamed my face with and gently wiped it off. The mask just kind of crumbles off. When I got the mask fully taken off, I was really surprised with how my skin looked. Usually my rosacea will be pretty inflamed for maybe 5 minutes after taking off the mask. My skin looked so healthy. It was still very moisturized but I could tell it helped remove a lot of the oils that give my face that nasty slick feeling.
I've been really obsessed with using toner after cleansing my face and I definitely have seen the difference it makes. There are so many benefits of using a toner. Cleansing, of course, gets rid of all the dirt, make up, and oils from your skin but it can also strip your skin of some of the good stuff it needs. Using a toner is a really simple way to restore the pH balance of your skin. It will also get rid of any make up that you could have missed. And as if you needed any more reasoning for using toner, it will also close up and tighten your pores so that dirt won't get in them and cause any pimples. I used this Tea Tree Toner Tab (tongue twister) water as toner after removing the mask and it was just the icing on top of the cake. I loved how it made my skin feel.
Needless to say, I will definitely be repurchasing these two products. I can't believe how simple but amazing the Toner Tab is. I can really tell the difference in my skin after using an all natural mask compared to a regular drug store mask. Lush, you did it again. That's all I have for now, until next time.
