Favorite Face Masks
Today I'll be sharing with you my go-to face masks. There are so many on the market these days, it's kind of hard to chose which one is best for your skin type. The first thing you'll want to do is obviously figure out what type of skin you have. Dry, oily, a combination of the two, sensitive, acne prone. You can find a mask for all types of skin. A cool part about face masks is that you can kinda bend the rules a bit. Say you have oily skin, you can still use a mask that is hydrating without being scared you'll look like a greasy mess. You can also use multiple masks at a time. Use a pore cleansing mask on your t-zone and hydrating mask everywhere else. There is really a mask out there for everyone, here are my faves!
GlamGlow SUPERMUD Clearing Treatment - This is a great mask that will suit a lot of different skin types. Whenever I notice the blackheads on my nose beginning to form an army, I reach for this. It's pretty expensive, but you don't need a lot. You can usually find a smaller size container on Sephora.com which is the one I get because the full size is kind of a big commitment. This mask is also great for spot treatment. If I notice an unwanted friend showing up, I'll pop this bad boy on it before bed and wake up looking like a Disney Princess (ha! not really, but the pimples gone!) The only bad thing I have to say about this mask is the smell. It's really strong, like REALLY strong. Hurt your nostrils kinda strong. Other than that, it's definitely a must have! My favorite thing about this mask is that you can literally see the dirt and gunk coming out of your pores which is gross but also lets you know it's really working.
Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque - This was the first face mask I ever used. One of the best things about being a little sister is getting to copy everything your older, more mature sister does. Not sure how cool it was for her but I loved it! This mask is so cheap, it lasts forever, and it actually works. You can get this at any drug store. It cleans out your pores and can also work as a spot treatment. Your face will feel super soft after rinsing it off.
Lush Mask of Magnaminty - If you haven't been to Lush before, you need to go. It's such a great company, they stand for so many amazing causes. All of their products are made with natural ingredients and are cruelty free. This Mask of Magnaminty is a must have. You can really tell the difference between masks with harsh chemicals and this all natural mask. I usually keep it on for 30 minutes even though they say 15. It doesn't really dry completely which is one of the things I like about it. After the 30 minutes is over, I use warm water to massage the mask into my skin, kind of using it as an exfoliator. It's definitely not one of those cute let me take a selfie with this mask on kinda mask. The chunks of natural goodness in it makes it a little funky looking. This mask smells so good, if you haven't already guessed, it smells like mint. No matter what mask you try from Lush, I'm sure you'll love it.
Etude House Moistfull Collagen Mask Sheets - Sheet masks are so popular right now.. They're also one of the scariest beauty products I've used. They're round sheets with two cut-outs for the eyes , a slit for the nose, and a cut-out for the mouth. You apply the mask and wait for it to dry. After taking off the sheet, rub in what's left on your face and in the pouch it came in. Your face will feel so moisturized and plump. This is a mask that you definitely need to take a selfie in, not because it's cute… because you look like a murderer and you need to document this craziness. If that doesn't sell you on these sheet masks, maybe this will. I came home from work the other day, I had a migraine, I was exhausted, I just had a shitty day. I got in my pajamas, put this mask on and watched some Netflix and (not even kidding) all my problems went away. And that kids, is all I can truly ask for in a beauty product.
Hopefully this helped you guys in choosing which face mask would be perfect for you. Remember to have fun, switch it up every once in a while. The only real rule behind using a face mask is that you HAVE to relax while it's on. So grab your favorite magazine, a cup of tea (or wine), and sit back and take a break from reality!
That's all for now, until next time!
